  4. Instruments. Circassian music is characterized by certain instruments, including: Pshine (Adyghe: Пшынэ), an accordion which is played in a specific way to produce Circassian tunesPkhach'ach, 2 sets of "wood blocks", each set containing about six pieces of wood held by hand; when a player strikes them together they produce a pure sound of wood to indicate the beat rhythm of the song.

  7. Oct 08,  · The name Circassian Circle refers to a popular dance from the early s, I think of English origin. Many large group dances (which were extremely popular then) had exotic names, more or less unconnected to the locale suggested. There is a Circassian (Cherkezzi) minority in Israel, though I have never seen from them any circle dances particularly different from the various Jewish or Arab.
